Hey there, I’m Patty!

I’m the face behind Plantitas by Patty, a small plant business based here in La Porte, Texas.

I’m not originally from La Porte. I grew up between Hitchcock and Bacliff, but I moved here in 2023 with my husband, who’s lived here his whole life. This little town has definitely started to feel like home.

My love for plants started with my mom. She always had a green thumb, and I guess I wanted to be like her… except back then, I couldn’t keep anything alive. My house was basically a plant graveyard for a while.

That all changed when we bought our first home. I wanted to fill my garden with native pollinator plants, something that would help butterflies and bees, but also wouldn’t need replacing every few months. Butterflies, especially, mean a lot to me. They remind me of my grandma, who passed away in 2016, and they always make me feel like she’s nearby.

What started as wanting to help pollinators slowly turned into a full-blown love for plants both outside and inside. I realized that plants genuinely make me happy, and I wanted to share that feeling with others.

That’s how Plantitas by Patty came to life. My goal is to help people connect with nature, make plants more accessible, and build a little community of people who find joy in watching things grow, even if they’ve killed a few plants along the way (trust me, I’ve been there more than a handful of times).
